You can cross a double yellow in VT, huh? Legally, I mean?

Cool.
Yes you can. Did not mean to ShangHai your thread, but it is a unique law in VT that is the equivalent to lane splitting in CA, except that VT doesn't have too many multiple lane highways (it only has 2 interstate highways in the whole state) or much traffic to speak of. The law is intended to relieve congestion behind slow moving farm implements that frequently use the same roads that travelers use. But is also widely used to pass slow moving 60's dropout stoners, who also make up a good percentage of the state's population.

The other thing that is similar with these two laws is that a good percentage of the population is unaware they exist, and (especially out-of-stater tourists) often get upset when the get passed on a double yellow, as I imagine also happens when they get lane-spiltted (is that the right term) in traffic in Cali.

YES!

When they are on the For Sale page, I'll take three.

And I'll toddle down to my local motorcycle shop and see if they'd like to offer them at a nominal price.

We definitely need to "raise awareness"!

I sure did enjoy the little bit of lane splitting I did while I was visiting your fine state. I'd forgotten that it even took place, but I saw it first hand dozens of times while negotiating traffic jams. Finally I got brave and did a little of my own. Sure is great when ya DON'T have to sit in traffic jams sweltering in the miserable sun and heat while yer surrounded by cages and there's no where to go. In every other state, ya just deal with it. But in California... NOT SO !! That particular law is a real gift to bikers. Hope they never repeal it on ya. Almost makes it "worth it" when ya gotta deal with other Cali laws like not being able to license certain vehicles from other states.

That's why California is the greatest

I'm a 4th Gen OC, SoCal native, but I did leave about 7 years ago...Lane splitting is what got me riding on the street, and I haven't looked back since. I'd love to see it come to other states, but only once I have succumbed to the temptation to slide on through here in AZ, but in my defense, it was a 3 mile backup due to an accident....and it was 115*....and I was ATGATT on my black FJR....and I was just finishing up a 300 mile loop...

I just put these up in the "For Sale" section. Right here, in fact. PM if interested. No point having two active threads about these, so reply there if you want to reply or ask a question. Thanks.

p.s., @ AVGeek: I forgive ya.
