I'm calling out ol' Charlie Hoss for 2015. In my gatherings this past year, nota-once did we meetup w Uncle Charlie. I know he got pinged here in the early Spring '14 as to whether he was still with us. He chimed in but that was it?

He's one funny *** feller, he cracks me up and I sure miss his presence and humor. Stan-Lee Steamer brought him up last weekend as to what happened to our lil buddy? I had no answers, so maybe we can get some answers and get him in on a Ride/Meet/Rally for 2015.

Here's just a few of the many Charlie moments...

Chime-in lil' buddy!...............

Crap, almost forgot this one from 2012. I was hitting on the waitress, so I pulled her to my lap and in comes (from nowhere and quickly too!) Charlie to get his share of funn.... the man has moves too!

In every other pix, ol charlie looks like Red Foreman about to say 'dumb ***!' then in the ****y shot, look at the smile!

Last winter was the last nail in the coffin, last straw, can't stand living in Maine one more winter season for him. Charlie has a bro that lives in year round riding Texas so he had a hacienda built and has been turning his estate into a home for the last few months. It's infested with deer in the back and his neighbors are pooling their dinero to buy him curtains and showing him how they close

You will have to travel to ride with him or next summer tell him that some young hottie really wants to ride with him and he needs to come up and meet her

CFR 2010 @ Mont Tremblant QC, about 1am in the parking lot. Charlie is caught between a very lit up MEM and Whats-her-name? Both are talking about 300 mph at the same time, interspersed with a sing-along to whatever was playing on the radio. I'm standing out of the line of fire with someone.

This goes on for at least 10 minutes. I swear they didn't even pause to take a breath. Charlie, is standing there looking straight ahead with a dead stare.

Theirs a every so slight, momentary pause in the verbal barrage.

Charlie utters the funniest thing I've ever heard a man say caught in that situation:

"I think I'm losing weight!"

I damn near wet my pants. The whole time they were jabbering, Charlie was off in la-la land thinking about his own ****.

That man is my hero.

Charlie in the red shirt changing his oil in a Walmart parking lot somewhere in California. That's Paul (Thingfish) holding the paper towels for him.

The same two people in Freud, Montana at the only place we could find a room in the entire state.

You know what Steve, I can visualize this to a T! ...that's the stuff I'm talking about. One of the most funniest, nonchalant dudes on Earth.

Good content also Alan and Greg :) and I just might have to bait the buzzard into a Meet. I already know (opposite) *** will sell with Charlie. Hmmmmm, thinking.... I've got a barrage of ho's that just may play the "oh, look, he's so cute!" ***-him-up game ;)

Bait bait bait the hook so ya say?

Bungie - that whole CFR story is true. EXCEPT the part where Sharon and I were talking 300mph - at the same time. The fook?!

Charlie DID say that and we're still laughing about it

I don't know about the rest of you goobers but I have a standing invitation to visit Charlie in the Lone Star State

If Charlie sends me a flowery invitation to spend a weekend with him in the Lone Star State, I think I'll go trout fishing in North Carolina on that weekend ;) YOUR mileage may vary.

Bungie, I was the other witness (go figure) to Charlie's deep thought moment at Tremblant.

Charlie pulling at his waistband saying 'You know, I think I'm losing weight!', while MEM and Sharon were running on, and then we all lost it.

Yeah KJ, ya might just hafta go visit Charlie in Texas Hill Country. You know how to set it up; Please Deb, just one more ride this year, it'll be the last.

That's right! I kept wanting to say it was Ray (Polarize). But I knew that wasn't right. I must be getting old or something.

Still. the single funniest, off the wall thing, I've ever heard anybody say and mean it.

One of the funniest "Charlie" moments I remember is at NAFO 2012 in Castlegar. Charlie was telling the story about buying a tent at Walmart and being really pleased with how small it packed. That night when he set it up he found out why. It was a child's tent! Telling about how he was actually in it and feet hitting one end and head sticking out the other...He had the whole table in hysterics!

Now this is what I'm talking about. We need to have a Charlie reunion in '15. This kinda stuff is awesome and coming from him is priceless!

I got nuttin against a ride out to TX.

JEEZ! This thread sound like a friggin' memorial. However, I'm flattered as hell, didn't know you cared. So that everyone will know, I'm alive and kicking. And riding!

I made up my mind back in January that the Maine winter would be my last. My brother Mike lives just west of Austin. My Mom is in a nursing home for Alzheimers patients nearby. I went down to visit in January and again in April hoping to buy house in the Hill Country but inventory was scarce. I found a place that was sold that I really liked and contacted the builder. We signed a contract and in four months my house was finished. I shipped most of my junk on an ABF U-Pack trailer and shipped both my bikes with a cycle transport company. Surprisingly, Arlene, while deciding she didn't want to move, was very helpful getting all my stuff sorted and packed and we still chat every few days. I left Maine on Aug 4 and took three days to drive my car the roughly 2200 miles. I stayed with Mike for a couple of weeks while I was waiting for furniture and appliances to be delivered. I closed on the house on the 14th and actually moved in on the 21st, just as the high temps for each day reached 102 F, a nice warm welcome to Texas.

I have been riding some, often just commuting to Mike's house (45 mins) or just learning my way around. A few weeks ago I rode all day with a couple of guys on VMaxes. I'm right in the middle of Texas Hill country and the roads are awesome.

I haven't spent much time on the forum, been really busy doing stuff at home, still unpacking and trying to figure out where to put stuff. Since my house is brand new, I've had to spend a small fortune getting it furnished and livable. (What kind of beer do you like?) The house is located on a cul d'sac in a nice hilly subdivision in Canyon Lake, north of San Antonio, west of San Marcos, south of Austin. Nice and quiet here, unlike all the noisy traffic on busy Rte 4 in Maine. Nice homes around on at least 1/2 acre lots. I forgot how to post pics here. Maybe some chums that I sent pics of the house to will post some of them up. With 3 bedrooms, 2 baths and 2 car garage, I now have room for guests. I see the cold weather has set in up north. Don't everyone show up at once!!!

Lots of critters around here. Deer are everywhere and quite tame. I also have a couple of grey foxes that come around as well as roadunners.

If any of you local Texans want someone to ride with, give me a shout. I'm retired so I can ride most any time. New Texas cell # 830>358>9850. Oh yeah, I'm legitimately single so If you know any cute....well, you know.

I'm guessing the previous pics of the Ducati girl will soon cause this thread to be hijacked!

Thanks again for all the memories. I sure had fun at all the CFR and NERDS rallies. I don't think I've seen the end of FJR rallies.

The Big Hoss Lives!

Great to hear that you are getting along well, and enjoying your new life way down in Tehas. After all those years downeast, it must feel awfully good. Eh? You can always jump on the FJR and run her back up here to see your old friends during the bike friendly months.

But, whatever you do, being such an old dog and all, don't go changing yourself and growing up too much, OK? It just wouldn't be right.

Take care, man, and we hope to see you around somewhere soon...

PS - Thanks for the big type face for us truly decrepit folks who don't like searching for their drug store readers. ;)
