Can a Gen 1 Seat Fit a Gen 2?

I've got an '05 with a one-piece Corbin seat I'd like to replace. Heard from an '07 owner who's interested but I know the two generations are not supposed to be interchangable. So is it possible to modify the seat or bike to take the other style seat? Anybody ever done this? Or, I suppose, any Gen 1 rider interested in this seat? It's firm.

I don't think it's possible, certainly have never heard of it being done. Seems like there would be gaps along the edges and/or overhang. If those could be overcome, it seems like it would look like garbage.

No, not practically. Covered in the model comparison matrix. Fundamentally different designs.

Use enough Duct tape and you can get it to fit!

I had an 05 Mayer seat and tried to modify the seat without any success. As said before, completely different design.
