Dave, Jim and I did a Nice little loop yesterday that ran us east up over Washington's North Cascade Hwy (Hwy 20), then north up some roads less traveled, then west on Canada's 3 to Hope and 1 to the boarder crossing at Sumas.

Meet at oh so dark and foggy 6 AM at the Smokey Point rest stop and headed for Darrington and Dave's battery died on his remote control for his heated jacket so we stopped at the little grocery store and they actually had a battery for it!
A shot of White Horse Mountain with just a bit of light starting to show.
Didn't take any shots going over twenty as the bikes were a hand full as it must of had a heavy due and frooze. Kind of like dancing with a fat friend on a wet ice rink.
If you look at the link and check out the route we took to the boarder it was a fifty fifty route, old black top, dirt and gravel! One of those deals you wouldn't want to miss. I was Jonesing for Georges S-10 as it would have been the perfect bike for this portion of the route.
This is where I took the rest of the pictures as we were trying to ride a 14 or so hour ride into twelve hour ride.
Jim needed to drain.
Pops needed to pose................
What the sign said.
These two shots are just past the town of Conconully.
These three were at a lake called Blue Lake. The fishing sign said one fish, no bait & barb-less hooks.
These last two were at the south end of Palmer Lake looking North East. Palmer lake is just north of Loomis, Wa.
Jim being the gentleman that he is shared some sausage and peanuts with us here. That was our breakfast and lunch as we really wanted to be back across the boarder in Sumas before dark.
We crossed the boarded at the Nighthawk crossing and except for fuel and a little side trip down Old Hedley Rd we ran the Crowsnest Hwy to Hope running a good pace set by Jim. At Hope I took over found a rabbit and we ran for Sumas where we had a twenty to thirty minute wait. I think next time the boys will let me go by a jug at the duty free place as it will take ten or so minutes off the wait.
We got a cross the boarder fueled and I got the look (don't run us down 9) as it was getting dark so we headed for I-5 and the Conway tavern for a couple of brews and fish & chips.
We toasted a good day and John Ryan too, as he would have enjoyed the day.
