This is a fairly spunky machine and able to break the rear tire

loose easily. No front brake lever........very strange. Right foot brake

is all you get but it worked very well. Reverse if you need it.

Can't say that I would trade in the FJR just yet...... but it would be

kind of fun to mess with to go get groceries fast.......$15K cost approx.

I bet they sell a lot of them.

These are really out there. We had a long test run, about 10 miles. Pros- engine rocks hard, comfortable, seemed agile. Cons- no leaning, needs front brake lever, still has a few bugs.

You knock all those cones over all by yourself? I guess it doesnt handle so well! :assassin:

(yea, I know, they were placed that way for the course, but I couldn't resist) :)

Cool lookin but they need to make it leanable, otherwise its just a trike; I left those behind at the age of 6 :assassin:

Yeah, its a trike, but its more stable than the standard trike. The two wheels up front is a better platform for turning and braking.

I was told very nicely to cool it on the cones because I guess we looked like

trouble. Most demo riders only got a one lap shot at this little get familiar course.

Aussie Jeff and I got in four laps. If we could have gotten two bikes in the lane

the race would have been on for sure. Jeff is a 3 time Baja 1000 entrant and

an ironman finisher last year.

The real fun came on the street ride.............naturally Jeff did a total disregard and

we tested the Spyders worth. No doubt it really needs a variable front camber feature.............

but you can smoke the rear tire easily and you can break the rear tire loose in at

least three gears. It didn't fair too well on the loft the front wheels over the RR crossing test,

I felt a mean tank slapper about to happen.

Feature this thing with a detachable overhead surfboard rack and I think I might buy one.

How sweet would that be. I haven't found that street legal 1000cc + golf cart yet that

can do a steady 70 MPH on PCH..............

GUNNY! I know it's gay odot.

Test rides here start july 2nd ;) I see the wallet getin thiner! Ain't nuttin' like a trike, more like a snowmobile :yahoo:

the tire only smoked a little honestly.

What did you think of the machine, Richard? It may be unique but would it ever replace your FJR? I mean....sidecars are available for the FJR.
not way it was fun for 20 minutes but thats it. It does not even come close to the FJR. And very difficult to lane split with.

I would have a gold Wing first.

I demo'd one at americade last week. While it was fun for the 30 mins we rode them, I don't see any practical use for these other than someone buying one because they need to be the center of attention. I'll buy a snowmobile for waaaaayyyy less than $15k and get the same feeling during our perma-winters here in upstate NY.

I'd bet that thing would be fun on a "skid pad". I wonder how much we could charge for a 10 minute ride? :yahoo:

Drove by the Daytona Speedway (Yes, Daytona FL) today and in the parking lot behind the main grand stands there was a group there giving demos on the Spider. Looked like they had 8 to 10 of them there in various colors. I was running short of time or I would have taken a ride. OH, well, I don't need another itch but if anyone is in the area take a look as they'll probably be there all weekend.. ;)
