The FJR I bought used has the CB headlight guards. They are pulling the hook and loop glued attachments off because they are not exactly the same shape as the headlights.

Can they be tweeked a bit by changing the shape, by doing something like heating in the oven and bending to shape? Is there a better way, if that works at all? Or is the plastic pretty much "set" once it is shaped at the factory?

My guess is whomever installed them the first time put the dual-lock fastners to close to the curved section of the headlamp. Put them slightly up from the curves and they will work great. Mine have been on for two year with no issues. You can buy new round dual-locks from Cee-Baileys or just buy the 1 inch strip at Home Depot and make your own.

Hope this helps, Gene
