anyone out there decide to change out their pipes yet on the fjr? i have researched the web until im blue in the face. i have spoken with several yamaha dealers and not one of them can really recommend an exhaust. the only 3 out there that i have found for our unique bike are: the devil, staintune, and two brothers. has anyone out there found anymore pipes? if not can someone compare these 3 for me and recommend one?

i guess i posted this too soon. after reading all the post concerning replacement pipes, i have never heard of holeshots nor leovince. so now i have to research these two. what about devil pipes?? any input?? i also have place a k&n filter on the bike, i have a power comander that i have not installed yet. i was wanting to intall all 3 at the same time but i had to take the bike in for her 13k miler. i would really like to get my pipes soon so i would appreciate any feed back here. other than the awful customer service at tbr, are the pipes good pipes??

Going in here I have to tell you that I am a dealer for the Leo Vince pipes. I become a dealer for them AFTER I saw thier products and received recommendations from others. Having said that, I have these pipes on my FJR1300 and love them. They are attractive, fit well and are "tunable" for noise levels by way of a removable baffle. They are available with carbon fiber, aluminum or titanium cans. You can see them here along with a sound bite so you can here them:

good lord, now im aware of 7-9 cans out there for the bike. i was kind of hoping to keep the numbers down to make the decission a little easier. how do you go about selecting. are most dyno charts the same?? are they all going to produce "about" the same amout of power increase?? any one of them is going to produce a greater sound than the stock so that im not really concerned with. i think our fjr's have enormous power off the floor. but who can stop there with all this stuff to buy. i have found the d&d's are a little bit more less expensive. i have found the holeshot appereance is not the greatest. people really seem to like the staintune for the appereance and no repacking. tbr customer service is not the greatest. i guess my real question is "to sum it up" is which pipe will perform the best with the pc3 after remapping??

All slip-on's will produce about the same amount of hp increase. About zero.

There may be a slight difference on a dyno, but altitude/humidity will affect the dyno power more than that. IMO, buy cans because you like the looks or sound of the particular brand.

After seeing and listening to most of the pipes you mention at WFO, here's what I came away with.

Holeshots are great quality and sound very nice, though they look a little smaller than stock cans. Of all the aftermarket pipes I saw, these are the smallest.

Remus carbon fiber oval are tunable for sound. They were the quietest of all even with the baffle removed.

Staintunes were very good quality also and were similar to the sound level of the remus.

leo Vince are great value for money when you take advantage of the generous discount of Sportbikeeffects. They are louder than the remus, devil and staintune and seem very close to the db level of the holeshots, though the sound is different.

Devil's were my pick of all that were present. The size of the carbon oval pipes are proportionatley correct to the size of the FJR. I listened to them with the baffles removed and though they are not too loud, they have a very nice exhaust tone that is not obnoxious. The build quality, fit and finish also looked first rate.

I only wish there were a set of oval carbon Blueflames to check out as the look, build quality and size seems comparable to the Devil's. If I were ready to drop some big bucks on pipes it would be between the two. I prefer the look of the Blueflames, but have not heard them. France vs England?

skyway, i really appreciate that bit of info. that is exactly what i was looking for. to comparisons. i have no idea why but without having any knowledge of any of the pipes i was already leaning towards the devils. the is good to know that none of them realy increase the hp that much. all are basically producing the same on the dyno read out. if it only comes down to look and sound, i think the blue flame and remus black polished look the best. im still intrested in the d&d feed back if anyone out there has any. thanks guys you've all been a lot of help.
