Fairlaner, I sure as hell wished that I lived closer to you FJR guys! Your SoCal crew group is always out riding! Badcat Burk and RT John are busted up for a couple more months. Wolfhound - FJRobert told me that he is going to get back into motorcycling, which is fantastic news; but the Veterans Administration just rebuilt his damaged shoulder, and he won't be on a bike for a couple of more months. vectervp1 - Art Montoya is getting married soon and he is working like crazy, so Arte doesn't get out riding much anymore. My normal riding companion is SkooterG, but he spends most of his time going to day spas with GSJane these days for beauty treatments. Hombre, if I was just 3 hours closer to you guys I would make this. Oh well, will see you SoCal riders on 3/27 in SD! R, I really enjoyed that Rock Inn!

Oh and Barry, just **** OFF!

Mild hijack for folks slightly to the west of this ride. I know it's a hundred miles west of the Rock Inn, but the traveling stone egg who is the mascot of the National photo tag game seems to have gotten stuck at the Firestone Vineyard near Solvang.

He reportedly likes good food, beer, and motorcycle rides to interesting places. This is when he was at Swarthmore College getting eggucated:

Not going to speculate as to why it elicited this response except to say I may have indicated to some that the ride was indeed put off..

Folks, sometimes even the best intentioned jokes go awry as indicated by last weeks "two Black eyes' Thread. You miss something with the written word when ya can't actually see the op..

As one who's always "tossin" **** around I'm cut of a pretty stout cloth so I'm not about cry or piss an moan about an *** kickin.. Hell, you have to expect folks to chew ya a new one now and then. I figure it's worth the risk.

Ahhhh, Foxen Canyon road near Solvang. The memories. That place is actually very nice, the Firestone Winery. Their brewpub is good too down in Buellton.

Ummm, Richard -- you being from SoCal and all, it's probably best to tell you what we in NorCal know all too well:

Have the bike ready, be geared up and ready to go, and sitting at your computer by 3:30 am for the usual 13 minutes of advance notice from OM Sunday morning.
