DATE CHANGE!

When: May 16th FRIDAY

Where: Meet at the Starbucks in Monroe on Highway 2. Address is 19813 State Route 2, Monroe, WA 98272-2352. This the one located in the Albertson's Plaza on the east side of town.
Time: Meet at 8am'ish, departure at 8:30 am. Please be gassed up and ready to go.

Food: Bring snacks, liquids, and ibuprofen to use throughout the day. We'll stop for lunch someplace.

Route: Highway 2 to Stevens Pass, cutoff Highway 2 to Lake Wenachee, Plain and on into Leavenworth. Then south on Highway 97 across Blewitt Pass and on into Teanaway via 970. East on 10 to Thorp-Prairie Road, then loop back west to Cle Elum and on to Roslyn. We'll return to Cle Elum and onto I-90 west, across Snoqualmie Pass, taking the 202 cutoff to North Bend, and a stop at Snoqualmie Falls. From there, we hoof it north on 203, through Carnation to Stillwater where we'll take a nice twistie detour on Kelly Road into the backside of Duvall. Hopefully, we'll be home well before sundown to avoid the forest rat dinner rush! It's supposed to be really warm so bring layers and/or heated gear for the passes. Bring your cameras! We'll be making lots of stops along the way.

Major stops: Plain, Leavenworth, Blewitt Pass, Roslyn, Snoqualmie Falls

Who: Anyone and everyone who wants to have a fun easy day in the saddle. Great for noobs.

Addition Ride Info: I use the "Destinations Highways" book to help develop my routes and to find cool off-the-beaten-track ride routes. I've never been to Lake Wenatchee or Plain nor Blewitt Pass. This trip is shorter in miles than last weeks Loop Run, however I have planned to stop at more places so it will probably take as long. This trip is a more sedate, touring, photo-taking type of ride.

Post up or PM me if you want to attend! Or just show up.

Blewett Pass is a fun road as long as you don't get stuck behind trucks or lollygagging rv'ers. Nice forested area and some good sweepers. I'm going to be passing through that way on Thursday, going from Portland to Cashmere via Hy12, SR821 (a blast of twisty two-lane along the Yakima River), and Hy97 and Blewett.

The Off the Beaten Path and Scenic Driving .... books are pretty good. I also go to TravelOregon every year and have 'em send me a stack of free stuff like Scenic Byways maps. Go here: https://www.traveloregon.com/Free-Travel-Guides.aspx

Washington has the same thing here: https://www.experiencewa.com/v5/GuidesAndMa...ions.aspx?tab=0

Thanks, eq. So far there hasn't been many RV's on the road. Maybe the price of gas? :dribble:

Good pubs!

Ride safe.
