Is anyone in the area or from far far away interested in riding down to Cassoday the morning of April 1st? If anyone is interested and coming from Kansas City, we'll probably meet at the Spring Hill/Bucyrus Exit on 169 South. There is a gas station right there. Everyone can fuel up, and talk for a few. We'll leave there by 6 am in order to be able to actually have breakfast in Cassoday (if you don't get there early, it gets to full and you can't get into the Cafe!) From the gas station we'll go down to 68 highway and across to 35, then south to Cassoday. For some of you this may be to early or may be somewhat out of the way. If that is the case let us know you are going to be there and we'll look for you! From Cassoday I'd like to trek north on the secondary highways eventually making it up to highway 4. Probably follow 4 all the way to Topeka and then home through Lawrence.

I frequently ride down (I'm in Manhattan), but generally don't decide till the night before :) . 177 is a nice ride through the Flint Hills to get there, & 4 is much more interesting than 70 or 35 if you're heading east. If I'm there, I'm on an 04 w/a RL tag.

James, I'll be on an '06 FJR (Blue) with MI tags. I'll have a gal on back with pink flames on her helmet. Sounds like there will probably be at least one other FJR, an R6 (silver), FZ1 (silver) and a Blue M109 with me. Probably more, but I won't know who else is going until that morning at the gas station. If you see us, come over and say hi!

Alright guys. There is a little change in the schedule. A few guys weren't excited about leaving at 6 because it would still be dark. I can understand that since some people will have to travel a little bit just to get to the meeting point. So we are going to bump back the leave time to 7am. We are still going to meet at the gas station there at the Spring Hill/Bucyrus exit. I'm hoping that since this is the first big weekend down at Cassoday, that maybe we'll still get there early enough to get into the Cafe and eat before it is completely overrun.

Hey guys I know this is after the fact but the only gas station I found off 69 highway was at the 199st exit and the gas station was just a block east of the junction. Was this the rendesvous point? I could not find a gas station at the

Spring Hill/Bucyrus exit. Anyway a friend and made our way down to Cassoday and saw a major single rider crash about 10 miles north of Cassoday on 177. On our return route (about noon) we came upon another crash about 15 miles north on 177 and the guy was being loaded up in an ambulance. Two crashes on one Cassoday trip was more than I have seen in three years that I have been going down to the prairie chicken capitol of the world. Maybe we can get another group of riders together on May 6.....let's plan for it.

Gentlemen,

It's good to see some Kansas City area riders on the forum. I'm a FNG from Shawnee, KS. Let me know if you plan any future rides.

Cheers!
