My CB shield came today for my '06. Very nice.

I got the +2 tall and +4 wide. Installed and immediately

went out for a test. I like the 'touring' part of 'sporttouring',

so the +2-4 works good. CB makes a quiality product; also

have one on my '05 650 Burgman.

Dave, that’s good to hear. :p Anything else you can tell us.

Did you have a passenger? What were the parameters/conditions (position of shield, weather, local speed limits) of your “test”?

Thanks for the post. I just ordered one 2" shorter than stock. I have found that getting farther above the windstream cuts down on the noise as well. I'll post when I get it on.

Weather.....very windy and overcast. On the local interstate (I-69),

speed limit 70; my speed 75-85. With the 2+, I look thru the shield

about an inch below top, but I lower just enough to see above.

No head jerks or bobbles and with the 4+ width it is a nice envelope.

I just can't stand the wind whipping me much anymore (possibly age??

no, I'm only 70). The nice plus of the bike is the adjustable shield; I

can run it down lower if it gets hot. BTW, as I said in another post,

a heat issue does not exist on this bike (and it sure as heck did on

my '04....I don't want to get another thread going.....again).

Anyway, I've used Cees before and I really like what they do. IMHO.

Dave,

How tall are you? how far above the shield can see when it in its lowest position? How much back pressure do you get without the cutouts?

I put a cee baileys 4+3 on mine a while back. I wasn't real impressed with the results as I still got back pressure and buffeting. So with some of the recommendations of others here I took it back off and added nuts to the mounting bracket to angle the windshield back some. I road this way for some time and never raised it as it still created back pressure pretty bad if any position besides down.

I just recently painted my stock one black and put it back on. With the stock and the mounting bracket now angled I really like the stock one. I get wind but not the back pressure and that is what I was looking for all along anyway... I can even raise it and not get head buffeting/back pressure.
