I searched but didn't come up with anything. Will an 06 centerstand/mounts fit an 05? The part numbers appear to be different between the years, but I figured I'd better ask anyway. The PO removed the centerstand and I would like to have one for ease of maintenance. I don't really want to hand a dealer ~$300 for a handfull of parts and there are a couple of 06 stands on ebay right now but no 05's.

I'd measure the two different years. See if you can find a local with a Gen II and check the width at the mount point.
There are subtle frame changes between Gen I and Gen II. For instance, Gen II has a longer swing arm and the bracket for the passenger foot peg is different, so the "rest" for the center stand may be moved.
