For the past 34 years (or so it seems), Marty (0Face) has done an incredible job rounding up swag for the Saturday night banquet at CFO. However, Marty won't be able to continue those efforts this year, so CFO is looking for a volunteer to write some emails, make a few phone calls, and see what kind of donations can be secured. Marty will be providing his magical list of contacts to the person willing to provide a few hours of time prior to the rally. And perhaps he can even be persuaded to provide some insights on how he’s been so dang good at this over the years...

So why swag? Each year, said swag has proved to be a great fundraiser for CFO's charities of choice, as the chance for first pick of all the goodies has been raffled off. I'd like to continue that tradition, and perhaps even expand upon it. And our swag donors receive favorable exposure to attendees and forum members.

Willing to become meister of this domain? PM me. And thanks in advance.

You know it'll be very hard to find a swag meister like Oface, he has been and always will be "SWAG-MEISTER EXTRAODENER"...

It's really not too difficult. You just have to be nice to people and a little persistent. Whoever wants to take this over, I'm more than happy to share my list and methods, answer questions, etc. just don't get too caught up in the swag thing. It's about riding right? I just got a little carried away getting stuff...

PM me questions or ask me to give you a call and I can explain.

Still looking for someone to make a few calls and send a few emails. Yes, you can do it...

Craig, if you consider this your first time and not your only time as CFO organizer, I don't think too many folks would begrudge you if you were to choose to forego the swag for this year. You know, kinda like breaking yourself into this new gig of your's slowly. I just don't think it was the swag that made CFO as great as it was. Yes it was a real treat, but it wouldn't make CFO a bust if it went without. Besides, by the time your twentieth year of running CFO comes around, nobody will remember that your first year had no swag.

Fully agree, Mike, that it's not the swag that makes CFO great. But I'd like to be able to raise a little money for charity at the event. In the past, raffling first choice of the magnificent showcase of fabulous prizes has done pretty well. As an alternative/adjunct, it's also been suggested that we set up a swap meet with whatever extra gear we all have laying about that we could ship/haul to La X. Sort of like an in-person, pay-it-forward thread. Perhaps some/all of that gear could be added to the swag list.

So, with benefit of a charity at the heart of this, I'm open to ideas. Go!
