Panama Canal Crosser
Soo much FUN but it hurt like hell!
------------------------------------------------------
First off, wft is an "ooh-ahh bird" right?
Well it's a tiny lil birdie with 2inch legs and 4inch balls. When he comes in for a landing he always screams out... "ooh-ahh, ooh-ahh!" ...well this was me in a nutshell riding at CFR '13 (especially when I hit the big potholes). For yuz that didn't attend, I had a Vasectomy prior and my boys were still quite swollen.
------------------------------------------------------
Let's kick it: So I'm sure there will be tons of social hour and banquet pics uploaded, so I will skip mine of those great times, instead I will outline the other fun times we had surrounding CFR '13....
Weds Nite pre-kickoff, Debbie insists she wants some 'alone time' before I shove off for my planned 5:30am Thurs Ride. So she picks an REO Speedwagon Concert. Freeqen A, like that's alone time?. She wins, I do it cuz she is "letting" me go on my own for the next 4 days (well with da Steamer but she trusts him about as much as our President).
G/F live-snapping the (next) image. Kinda thought that was a kool way of double imaging
Shove off time is now 6am. I have the GPS setup, avoiding all toll-roads and divided highways, favoring primary and strongly favoring secondary roads. This worked out PERFECT except around Toronto
Basically found out you have to slab-it or forget-it to get around T-town. We did the forget-it for awhile until about 500 stop lights, then we slabbed it around Toronto mainly cuz I was tired of hearing Steamer whining about being in the middle of downtown Toronto! (it was actually Mississauga btw)... that farmer-boy just gets intimidated by big buildings!
1st full day of CFR riding; Bill (yamafitter) finds us poking about in the parking lot, we group up and off we go (he still has full health at this time). Here he is riding the twisties in a mental state of mind.
Lagging behind, the Kow finally caught up to us 3 FJR's at Algonquin Provincial Park. Man those black flies sucked *** up there, I still have some blood marks from those lil *******s! (Steamer - TopSpeed)
Mike (WineGuy) showing off his beautiful 2013 rear-end
Wine Guy and yamafitter displaying the bad times we were having
Mike's '13 showing up my '09 in the background
Day 2; Bill (yamafitter) is now wounded from doing the Polar Bear plunge off the dock
...so it's now the 3 Amigo's that suite up for our last full day of Canuckie road riding). Fitter is off to the Hospital to get fixed up, I'm now appointed as the group leader. (yepp, 10lb nutsack KJ is now at the helm!).
Gotta start out with a 1...3 salute (2013) to Mike's new bike that had never seen rain before until today
...I gave him a big Bromance hug and told him "don't worry buddy, it will be alright".
Mike then says he knows of a nice area called Bala that we should check out, photo-op stuff. He now leads us to some of his familiar turf. Just a Beautiful place...
Next up, Stan & Mike decide to do their GQ Cover Shoot. I sat back and laughed my *** off while they struck up these poses w their bikes... (I'm still smiling, you guys r fun-knee!)
So Mike texts one of his buddies (Paul) that we're close to his Cottage on Black Lake. Low and behold, he pulls up right to where we were doing the photo-op and invites us over for a cold beverage. I usually will say no (when riding) but I figured when in Canada do as the Canadians do and with an hour rest stop at Paul's, hey, we could squeeze it in
The 3 Amigo's....
So one of Paul's friend's tells Steamer that he can take his ski out for a spin around Black Lake. Stan accepts quickly, dowses his drawers and off he goes. Back home when I do a bike ride then hop on one of my skii's I call it a "Surf n Turf day". You just can't beat that combo, nooooo way! Now Steamer is in the club 'el Canadian style!
Banquet nite when we return and time to pack it up for homeland (SAD!). We waddled our way down through Ontario and I decided to go the long way back through Thousand Islands. One of my many visited retreats.
1pm; I show Steamer the dockside dining at A-Bay and we get in a nice lunch. He's impressed as I was showing him spots he's never been to... I have jet skii'd there many of times, still love AlexBay
Still ride home, now 5pm.
We're now back in our normal stomp'n grounds (about 45mins from home) at the "Little Sodus Bay Inn". Skies opened up so we decided to ride the storm out with a Margarita. Worked out perfect, ride back was dry. What a great weekend event/trip.
Much thanks to Bill, Ian and Bob (and anyone else involved for organizing and putting on CFR). We had an absolute awesome good time!!
KJ (top_speed1) Waterloo, NY
Stan (steamer) Geneva, NY
Mike (wine guy) Ontario CN... You are now enshrined in our group (no clicks for us dicks!) See you at NERDS!
Bill (yamafitter) Bowmanville, Ontario CN... Get better quickly, we all wanna ride witch-u again!
See you at NERDS!
