I have an Olympia AST 3/4 jacket that I'm really happy with. Occasionally, when it is warm, even when the substantial venting on the jacket is open I find myself holding my left arm in a way that catches the air flow and directs it up the sleeve. At speed this is a very effective cooling procedure.

A while back I came across a product named Ventz. https://www.ventz-range.com/

I like the idea, but at $27.48 I figured I could make my own, which I did.

The red part is from plastic tumblers from Walmart, 4/$1.00. The lower part is cut from a milk jug. They are put together with hot glue. I decided to forego the clip thing and just give it try as is, and they work quite well. Slide them in and they stay in place. I still occasional raise my left arm to get a better air flow, but now there is not the problem of the cuff flapping down and blocking the air flow.

I though some of my fellow cheapskates might want your own set.

You just gave me an idea. Sometimes when I just want a half-a-cup of coffee, one of these would be perfect

I like your ventilator thingie idea. I checked out your link to the Ventz website. Never saw them before; seems like a great concept. One thing's for sure, the units you made didn't break the bank. On those warmer summer days, ya need a little air.

You know that your copies have no screens. What happens when the bees and hornets are out and about?

For my bike, I use these:

They work great until you get above 100 degrees or so. Oddly enough, if I leave my sleeves open, the air wings shoot a pretty good stream of air right up my sleeves. How about that? So, getting back to your homemade ventz, are you planning to put clips on them like the factory made units?

No plans for clips at this time. I need to put in some more miles to see if clips are needed. So far they've stayed in place.

I think I'll stick to my mesh jackets. Many more gadgets and it will take us longer to leave a gas station than the space shuttle launching.

I also wear mesh when the conditions call for it, but on longer trips through a wide range of temperatures mesh alone just isn't going to cut it.

looks great, all you need now is a screen to keep the stinging flying things out of your armpits.

I've considered these to use with the 'stich but I seem to get enough airflow through there as it is.

Clips are going to be required. I rode in some really strong side winds today that dislodged the one on the windy side.
