11 (?) days ago a British child was abducted in Portugal. It has been headline news here ever since.

The 3 year old was taken from the family's holiday appartment where she slept with her twin baby sisters.....alone!
Her parents were 300 yards away in a restaurant having dinner. There is (and rightly so) much sadness and sympathy for the family. But if they had been caught doing that here they would have been charged with neglect.
Hopefully this story will teach someone, somewhere a lesson about child care.
