So this rancher from west Texas was in his pick up truck cruising down the interstate one day and passed by a state highway patrol officer doing 73 mph in a 70 mph zone. It was the officer's first day on the job and he took highway safety seriously. He pulled the rancher over and commenced to giving him a 20 minute lecture on the automobile crash statistics for 2014 and how dangerous it is to ignore the speed limits, the whole time he was swatting at some bugs flying around his face. When he was done with his dressing down of the rancher, he asked for his license and proof of insurance. The rancher gave the information to the officer and said, got a little problem with circle flies there I see. Circle flies, is that what you call these things the officer said? I've been swatting at em all morning. Oh yeah said the rancher. Around these parts we call them circle flies because most generally you'll see them circling around the north end of a south facing horse. Oh I see said the officer.....what a minute! Are you calling me a horse's arse?? Oh no replied the rancher, but it sure is hard to fool those circle flies......
