Last night I had a surprise waiting for me when I left work. I had ice on my bike's screen, tank, and seat! I had insulated gear, but I still froze my ass off. No really. Part of my ass is still laying somewhere on the side of I-405 just north of Bothell. Please PM me if you find it. I think I need to invest in heated clothing.

Brrrr.

28 when I left for work at 6:00 this morning. Heavy frost on the windshield. FJR is still in storage with the move and all, so I'm forced to take the company rig.

Kurt, I saw a '07 on 145th in Woodinville a couple days ago heading west, wazzit you?

Can't remember being over that way. I had no windshield on until just yesterday, so I would have been easy to pick out. I have been going back and forth to work from Bear Creek area, thru Redmond ctr, and up to Microsoft. Sometimes on the way home, I go up Union Hill all the to its end, and ride past the Nestle cow farm, then back up Novelty Hill going west.

I'll have to add that to my list of farkles. I'm also thinking about a heated vest and heated grips.
I got the grips when I bought it, then added the heated vest, but I have read a lot of posts since that make me think I screwed up and should have gotten the full heated top with sleaves. On the other hand, I know when it is 40 the vest is plenty. Sunday early I'll be going over Steven's Pass to Levenworth with a bunch of ducs, and I bet it will be less than 30 at the top - then I'll find out if the vest is enough.

I've got a Gerbings heated jacket liner for sale. Only used it twice then had Gerbings heat the liner of my First Gear Jacket. PM me if you want it. I'm just south of Sea-Tac.

And to think somebody was questioning my adding heating to the new Russell Day-Long saddle I just had made. I'll take a warm ass over a frozen ass anytime. And I use a Gerbing jacket liner and gloves. Had the pants, too for on the Harley but so far the FJR seems to have enough leg protection.

32 When I left the house this morning to ride north with a few sports bikes.

Put the Yamaha tall windsheild on yesterday. I like that sheild.

Also have heated grips but there still in the box. Note to self, "PUT ON THE GRIPS YA LAZY DOG!.

Just got back about 20 minutes ago. 57 at the house.

I really like fall rides, less trafic and great fall colors.

DAMN, I love this bike! :fan_1:

If it didn't have sidebags it might have been me. I go that route once in a while. I was there last week late afternoon.

I just got a Gerbing heated jacket liner, and used it for the first time Friday morning. All I can say is AWSOME! I can't believe I have made due without it. Never, ever, ever, will I ride in below 40 weather without heated gear, unless it is a life of death kind of deal.

I have the Gerbings jacket liner, pants and gloves, and the plastic hand guards. Add a balaclava for your head and neck and that combo tested good for extended periods down to 25 degrees so far.

Takes about 10 minutes to dress and get all plugged in, a stool to climb aboard as you are somewhat less mobile than the Pillsbury Dough Boy, and traffic intersections require prayer as I can hardly turn my head from side to side.

But I ain't cold. :)

No, this one had side bags. Just coming through the light at the Hollywood School House heading west. Rider had black gear.

Believe it or not, when I went to look at my 05 at the end of June and not really wanting to spend the 9.9K on it, the guy threw in an Autocom (and some other stuff), but the Gerbing jacket and gloves with the dual controller made me break down and buy the FJR for $100 more.

40 is still pretty balmy for me, I did my 40min commute at 7 deg F last Feb without heated clothing (other than homemade electric gloves & controller), so I'm looking forward to seeing how well the jacket works.
