Sally and I had an opportunity to go to China over the holidays. We had a new granddaughter and our daughter arranged for us to go to Shenzhen to be the godparents. While sightseeing one day in a more rural area where 125cc motorcycles are allowed we convinced a local with a knock-off to let us take a very brief spin in a small parking lot.
The police showed up and we jumped off and kinda drifted through the crowd that had gathered. We realized a few minutes later that they had stopped in to visit the police who were on duty at the edge of the parking lot. In the 1st photo look in the background, that little house near the gate is the police shack. Turns out there were 2 on duty while we were riding. Could have kept riding.... <_<
Ride report:
The HAOYA is similar to the HADJIN (seen in the background of the 3rd photo) and both resemble a HONDA. Brakes faded regularly after one consecutive application. Throttle response with 2 typical US citizens aboard was quite slow. Handling was typically light and well behaved at 25 KPH in a tight circle in a small flat parking lot, but we suspect the handling might feel vague at elevated speeds in real curves on real roads at real speeds. Suspension was quite stiff and unyielding, probably due to the fact that with 2 typical US citizens aboard the shocks were compressed to the limit.
I am not 100% familiar with the rules. Does this count? Did we collect China?
