Day 3 - Collier Logging Museum
For years I've ridden past the Collier Logging Musuem. Since I had a 4pm massage appointment, couldn't go for a 'bid dog' ride so hung local and today was the day to play tourist. OBTW, I'm at Rueben Run7 in La Pine, Oregon.
What a place! At first it looked like a waste of 70 miles of s t r a i g h t and b o r i n g US-97 as this outdoor museum appeared to have, perhaps, 5 exhibits! But, the property just kept going and going and going. Over 2 hours later, I still hadn't seen it ALL, but had seen enough.
The museum is categorized by history of logging. First using animals, then steam, then internal combustion.
There is no admission fee but I left a 20 dollar cash donation. Well worth the $$!
Arrived in time for the massage and later libations with the RuebenRun7 crowd.
Huge props to JP for bringing a trailer full of propane heaters, bbq grills, tri-tip and even mixed cocktails!
