I recently had the opportunity to ride the FJR over 1600 miles in two days.

Today I drove a 2002 Dodge truck with a 5-way adjustable seat.

Guess which vehicle I judge to be more comfie?

Your candy ass roots are showing. Stop at Russell and have them make it real comfie.:) :) :) :)

Certainly lots of trade-offs here... Weather, carrying capacity, etc. But if solo, not carrying a washer/dryer, and reasonable temps, I'd take the bike.

I'd even take the bike at less-than-reasonable temps, just as long as there isn't ice or snow on the road, I'm on two wheels.

However, I still can't go to Costco on the bike, so the cage gets at least some use.

Iffn' that was a Chevy, the answer would be obvious!

I'm gonna say the FJR.

If the question changed to "Guess which vehicle is more reliable?" I'd still say the FJR.

Yup... cause it's not at all comfortable to push your truck that far

(I'm sorry... I had to.... )

I'm guessing Carver says FEEJER.

For me...

1600 miles...2 days... I'd probably go with my Sequoia (heated leather, JBL, and all but 2 windows open...and the roof) (You said comfy... not fuel or fun)

1600 miles... 3 days... I'd pick the FEEJ

(I'm soft yet...)

Reliability... Neither one is a worry.

My FJR has a 5 way adjustable seat as well. Uhhh... sorta. Odd you should mention that. Last summer, taking that 6k trip around the country, I discovered that there are indeed 5 different ways to sit on that seat. I spent several 12-16 hour days in the saddle on that trip, during which I experimented with all sorts of strange positions on board that seat. The Sargent is actual a great seat, but it's NO Russel.

These vehicles are dcarver owned, maintained and driven -- that statement is invalid.

Hey now, who is closing in on 200k on the FJR and 140k on the Harley?

RedfishH wins the prize!

It took 1.5 hours less time (55 mph max when towing trailer in Kali), less fuel stops 3 vs 2, and the FJR by FAR offers more 'positions' to flex while in route. By the time I arrived in the truck, I was pretty well stoved up.

However, I WAS dry, and WARM, and everyone got the PHUCK out of my way... so there is that for the big diesel truck..

Honestly, I was surprised at how much better I felt on the bike.

My truck is way more comfortable than my bike. Sometimes, it is almost as fun. I love my truck a lot. I have contemplated selling my bike. I have never contemplated selling my truck. My truck is useful, my bike is a toy. Both have been bulletproof.

I was with Redfish Hunter on this knowing Carvers aces and pains.

I think Zilla has spent to much time in a cruiser, trucks are tools MOTORCYCLES ARE LIFE!

Truck? What truck? I thought you owned a Ford! I doubt you could sell it if you wanted to. You would probably have to pay someone to take it.

Chevy *********. You can't kill them, but sooner or later they'll have a heart attack while pushing their truck.
