Not completely off topic but I'd rather not risk getting my chops busted...

For anyone interested, the May 2013 issue of Consumer Reports has a small blurb (two pages) on bikes. The 2011 FJR is the featured bike for the article. Along with common maintenance issues and buying tips, they rate motorcycles on reliability, with Yamaha leading the pack a small amount over Kawiskai while BMWs are decisively last, even over Harley's.

I know you are busy protecting BC, but please try to keep up.

LOL, Thanks for pointing that out. I did (honestly and truly) take a scan at my RSS feed and noticed there was no related topic in the previous 30 posts, which I found quite surprising. I figured most of the ole' farts here would in fact buy that magazine or, at the very least, read it...say, while waiting for a prostate exam in the Doc's office.

Why bother? Have you seen how they make selections on things like cars, audio gear and such? For basic home appliances they seem to be pretty spot on. For bigger ticket items they always point to the dull median. I read them in the 80s for a while and when they did personal computers it was clear that their priorities didn't match mine.

For bikes, I find MCNews better.
