Well,

I have had my FJR for about a week now, and from the moment I pulled off the dealers lot, I had a dislike for the BT020s that came on the bike..They only had 2800 miles on them, they wernt cupped and had planty of meat left, but just didnt feel right..The bike I traded in had Conti Road Attacks on it, and I had loved the feeling, nice turn in, smooth on the road, and always could tell what they where doing..So my tire guy set me up with a set of Road Attacks "C" for the FJR..There supposed to be a heavier carcuse, so BMW uses them on the R1200 RT/ST, and should handle the weight of the FJR nicly..I got about 70 miles on them so far, and they feel great..Nice turn in, smooth and stable ridding, no head shake (didnt have any before)...So far, so good...

YMMV....

Sure, here's my input... let me just say this: I would run a Metzler Z6 with bulging sidewalls at 150mph all day long in the desert heat, before I would put another Conti Heart Attack tire back on my FJR. <_<

May The Force be with you.

Heres 2 weekends in Arkansas and 2100 miles later.. They felt great, just didn't last very long.. :angry2: Smitty

My favorite/default tires so far! Just waiting for SW Moto to get the rear C back in stock to get back on the road.

Notice the feel? The instant input and response? I think you will like them but I also think Conti burned a few bridges with it's previous offerings with this group.

FWIW, I'm on my second non-designated rear and have had no concerns or issues. The first one was used for a trip from MN to the USGP via the PNWa nd back, and much of that trip was in high heat and at max bike load capacity (I am a certified lard-a$$). Ended up running it for about 7k total and it still looked a lot better than Smitty's. I think these are great sport-touring tires and the fact that they're very reasonably priced is major bonus. IMHO they handle at least as well as anything else I've run (PR, MEZ6, BT020)

Smitty,

Did you only get 2100 miles out of that Conti rear tire? Also, are those road attacks or sport attacks?

Thnx!

They were road attacks... AND YES, only 2100 miles and the steel was showing.... Smitty

Don't let Smitty's tire overly concern you. I ran the original issue R.A.s a couple yrs. back when they were first released and ran them to 7,500 mi. w/o cords showing. I know several others have as well.

I always rode 1 up and moderately aggressive in the PNW(good pavement, milder temps ???) The front (orig. problematic) was upgraded by Conti and should be fine for the solo rider. I didn't like the severe decel. wobble from these tires but would go back to them if indeed the front has been reworked. For comparison, I then went to Pirelli Diablo Stradas and got a bit over 7,500 miles out of them, w/o reaching the cords, where some others only got 3,000 and to the cords.

...your mileage will vary!!! :biggrinsmiley:
