Yikes! - "must drive drive 14 miles on twisty, unpaved roads" to get to the thing.

I was thinking about organizing a ride to this thing, but between the cost and unknown quality of roads I think I will pass. Looks like I am back to the Titan Missile Silo.

NPR had a blurb about it. Mentioned the dirt roads to get there. Mentioned the $25 to go on the thing. Nothing about costing to get on the reservation. They DID say that the "visitor center" was not constructed. So I'm wondering what, if any, facilities this place has?

Great concept. Too rich for my blood. For $75, I'll skip it, thanks. Rather spend that money for a tour INTO the canyon, not OVER the canyon (esp over dirt roads). Seems this tribe has had business (casino, tourism) failures. Perhaps this will be another?

I dint' know they had that opened already... but according to the brochure I have,

their supposed to have meals and a whole bunch of stuff available...

as soon as it's all built.... think I'll wait.... <G>

If you go all the way to Peach springs, there's a nice canoe ride down the river...

Ok, it's a river raft ride down the Colorado... a couple of my friends did it last October...

You ride down and they helicopter you back...

but it does cost $300...... guess it's worth it, but I chickened out...

I think not only the river but the weather was rather cold last October when they went...<BG>

July would be nice and warm, tho...

They showed it on CNN tonight & it cost $50 A car to get on reservation & $25 for 15 minutes on Skywalk ! Ouch. . . .

I noticed the CIB so I figured that your the guy to ask what is WFO? I am in Calif but have already heard that if I can I should make the trek to Utah for it.

Anyhow I never Got a CIB or an EIB but I respect those who did. Blue cords RULE!
