The deal is done. Brother-in-law is happy. And thanks, Ion, for the illustration help.
I would like to say the wreck my brother-in-law had last September was serious. He could have been killed by cross traffic. He did tear up his shoulder but surgery has apparently fixed that. The bike was a mess and would have cost, my guess, $3,000-$3,500 to have a dealer fix it; a total in other words ('03 with almost 80K - my first FJR). With the help of this forum - especially Ignacio - and an independent shop and painter, I think he had it put back together for about $1,500. It's only slightly a "Frankenbike" since he has an '05 right fairing lower with the integrated turn signal, the '03 panel with the signal on a stalk on the other side. Maybe someone here has one of the conversion flush-mount signals (left side) that were available for the '03? Anyway, great job Forum members! You are good, fair people. Thanks.
