I would like to know if anyone has seen/heard of these.....or if anyone has one and what they think of them?

(I am not sure how to add a link so I just typed out where I found them) www.sixsixone.com

computer challenged.......

Any help/comments on this would be appreciated.

Just wondering because of WFO being in a place in which they do not have igloo's :D

FMG,

I wear a regular water vest and it does work well when I remember to put it on. I don't think there's enough body coverage on the one you've linked to. While it would be nice to have your throat cooled, what happens when that dries out? Prolly would become uncomfortable. I don't know about your jacket but that would stick up higher than the collar on my jacket which would allow it to dry out faster.

I concur. I also use a water-type vest and I carry 2 neckerchiefs, soaked in water, in sandwich baggies. That wet neckerchief will cool you quickly and when it dries out, I have another, and place the dry one in the baggie to rehydrate.

One must be clever if one desires to enjoy motorcycling in hot weather!

+about 700 for me too. I really am pleased with my Scorpion EXO700 helmet. Got the idea from the Scorpion website some time ago of just dunking your helmet in cool water before a hot weather ride, and have tried it a few times in the sweltering Texas heat....works fine for me. Got a gel vest which I use as well, but this is the first I have seen those shoulder covers.

I wear the water absorbing vest as well. It really makes a difference when I put it on under my perforated jacket.

For these polymer filled vests to work, the water has to evaporate into air that can hold additional water. In the humid SE USA and places like Houston, when it is 85-90-95% humidity, the air can hold little additional water, so evaporation is not very effective. If humidity is around 7o%, they do work.

Fantastic to hear, so in the desert southwest (humidity commonly less than 30%), I should have frost coming off my arse from the evaporative cooling.

Actually, here in Colorado, the frost forms on the other side from my arse. ;) I count on the heat from the FJR to keep icicles off my test..... :)
