I know this should be a 5 minute farkle and it probably is but according to the instructions for my guard it should have some zip ties at the top that fit around the radiator brackets???

Mine basically snaps/slides into place at the top between the radiator and the brackets/horns....bolted into the bottom I dont see how it could go anywhere....I tried using the zip ties at the top but I dont see how in the world to attach it that way...with them on, it wont fit between the radiator and horn brackets, not even close...anyone alse notice this when installing one of these on your Gen 1 and di you just skip the zip ties?

I had the same challenge on my 05. I did mange to finagle one of two zip ties on, but could not tighten it completely - it's more of a "keeper" in case the bottom bolt falls out which I also don't see happening. I ultimately came to the conclusion it was fine as is. I've had no trouble in the 2 years and 20k+ miles since its installation. If I was to do it again, I would skip the zip ties entirely.

If skipping the zip ties is still of concern, liberal application of J-B Weld will ensure that it stays put. :p

I skipped the ties on my '05, it's pretty snug at the top anyway.

No zip ties on mine either. I did make sure there was foam between the guard and radiator surface so they wouldn't rub together and wear a hole.

I didn't bother with the zip ties and my radiator guard has been fine for 30k miles
