OK, while in a hurry to get the attention of my wife today as I pulled into our driveway, I did the unthinkable and had my first drop, ever <tears shed>

Our driveway has a pretty nice size curb and its steep so you have to slow down and come in at an angle. Somehow I had shifted into "N" instead of 1st while I was looking up to watch my 2 yr old run out of the garage to greet me. When I went to accelerate....well...you know the rest of the story. No movement, bike slowly topples over on its side despite a heoric efforts to bust a hernia in saving it.

It looks like I escaped pretty unscathed. The bags were on so the RH one has some scratches ~4 inches long at the very bottom and that is about it. It looks like the steep driveway prevented more damage from being done.

So do I get to add a crash club avatar now to my collection or is there a dollar threshold for damage before I can do so. BTW, I am joking about this...I just needed to vent a little after doing something so stupid.

OH, and to make matters worse, my neighbor 3 houses up who happens to be the sales GM at the HD shop in Lexington freakin pulls up and asks me if he can help get the bike upright....how freaking embarassing!

:)

Check the Crash Club Handbook. It states that you must be traveling at least 10 MPH and do at least $500 dollars damage or sustain an injury requiring medical attention. You are, however, eligible for the drop club. Sorry about the scratches on your bike and your ego.

I nominate you for the

I hope I don't get to join either club with this bike...after low-siding my previous bike at 70 and watching it flip into the trees.....I hope I am good for a while.

Nope - you said it yourself - it was a drop.

I just needed to vent a little after doing something so stupid.
I know that feeling. :(

If it makes you feel better, I dropped my previous bike....on my foot...pinned me to the ground....at the Dragon....in front of 50 other riders...

Now *that's* embarrassing. :(
