Has anyone on here used cyclechex.com to research a bike?

I entered the VIN of a bike I'm interested in and it says "critical information found"

Then again it says that for every 17 character string I entered, so I'm wondering if its legit.

Its $20 for a single report, and $14 for each additional so I wanted some feedback on their service first.

Archive search yielded no hits for it.

Thanks.

If its anything like carfax, its total crap. When I was looking for a new cage I paid for a month subscription to Carfax. It gave me the ablility to run as many reports as I wanted within the month period. Well, my truck at the time had been in three accidents (all of them people pulling out in front of me) and it said my truck was mint. No accidents, no nothing. My buddy had a truck that he was involved in 4 accidents. Same thing. Showed the vehicle had never been in an accident. I looked at another vehicle which had a salvage title on it. Carfax said there was nothing wrong with the title.

As far as the accidents go, I think it only registers on Carfax if it's claimed on insurance. I'm sure it takes a cretain amount of time to go through the system.

Dittos on the carfax being garbage. I can relate pretty much the exact same stories. I can only imagine that cyclechex is just a similar waste of $. When it shows that "critical information found", they're only trying to get you to pay for the report which will show when & to whom the title was issued, and probably a registration location history, but you're not likely to find any real "critical" information such as major repairs or insurance claims. That's just my experience, YMMV.

All 3 of my accidents were reported to the insurance. One of them involved layers (my ins vs his) becaues they claimed I was partially to blame because I was in the far right lane when he made a left in front of me. They stated I wouldnt have hit him if I was in the far left lane..... All of my accidents were over $4k in damage, and the last one almost totaled out my cage. My buddies accidents were also claimed to the insurance.

Carfax is crap to put it lightly. They even got sued because of this. I got a letter a few months later stating that they lost a class action suit, and were offering a free car check.... like that means anything since they're database is crap.
