Do you not have insurance? When I totaled my '04 in November of '05, the insurance gave me $10,900. I put $1900 with the check and bought an '06 in April '06 from Yamaha SportsCenter in Texarkana, TX. Was knda of a no brainer.

EVERYONE should have full coverage on the fjrs thers too much plastic and its big buck bucks at dealers costs . when i droped my bike my the dealer sent the adjuster a quote of 2300 bucks and i recived a check for 2300 bucks . no if ands of buts . like some one said on a past post the dealer markes the prices up 100 percent plus labor . What i called univerisity motors and purchased the parts at between 50 and 65 percent off list price . do the math . i had a pocket full of cash left . and it all legal .

THE NEXT ONE WILL!!!!!!!!

But hey, it was only an $8500 dollar mistake....

FJRMGM: I go back and forth on riding again. Not sure when I'll get back on the road, but I must have used up my quota for bad luck this year!!!

I know about the regretable task of fixing bent bikes. I took a 900 Kawasaki to Sears Point. I guess I ran over something and had a instant flat. I flat tracked it around the turn. The next turn was the opposite direction and with a flat there was no way to change direction. My Van with the bent bike was hit by a drunk driver that night in front of my house. :dribble: Sometimes Karma for what ever reason is a *****. Good Luck! TJ

Oh dude:

The dealer will **** you on buying the bike. Best thing to do is buy something like a used Kawa KLR650 to ride. Then get on EBAY and lok at the motorcycle parts. Slowly bid and piece the bike back together. make sure you know the OEM part prices. Also, make sure the items you are bidding on are OEM...that's what the little send an e-mail to the seller is for. I had a bud wipe out his R1. Over 8,000 in damage...dent in the frame. He rebuilt the entire bike except for the frame and didn't spend more than $1500 on ebay, about $200 on OEM at the Yama shop, and a lot of TLC by me and him. It can be rebuilt. Just make sure the frame and forks are straight as an arrow before you start.

It sucks dude, but you can also learn not to drop one by putting the time and moeny into fixing the bike. Then sell it and get an '07.
