R.I.P. Our Motorcycling Friend
Friends,
I got this very distressing news in my email tonight.
Lou has gone by 'Canyon Dancer' in the past, but hasn't been active on the boards in a few years. If any of you know him and wish to send him your well wishes, send me a PM and I'll get you his address.
****, be careful out there people.
I got this very distressing news in my email tonight.
Lou Vanderveen is the LA area club/dealer coordinator for the Ride For Kids and pours his heart and soul into this effort every year, all year. I can't think of a nicer, more giving guy than Lou. And this ******' **** has to happen to him. Sonovabitch, I'm pissed and saddened that this kinda **** happens to truly great people, while shitbags skip merrily through life. This is the second time Lou has been down on his FJR in two years, the last when some drunk ******* wandered into the PCH in Malibu and Lou had to dump into the back of a car to avoid hitting the guy. Jesus, where's the equity?Hi Roy,Louis had completed an escort job and was riding on Sepulveda (near West LA). He had no stop sign but traffic coming from the side street did. A kid stopped at the stop sign, crossed several lanes and then proceeded right into Louis. Basically, a t-bone.
Friday he will have surgery to stabilize his hip which is fractured in 4-5 places. He also has some busted ribs. He's at Saint John's Hospital in Santa Monica with some good painkillers.
