Okay folks, this crap is getting old. For the second time in less than 6 months, I have gotten butt-slammed in that I've had a back tire ruined by hidden road debris.

Am I cruising shady back alleys?

Nope.

The first nail that toasted my Diablo Strada after only 3.5k miles was during my daily commute along I-8 towards Rosecrans in Mission Valley.

Now, I pick up a HUGE screw (head the size of a dime) that rendered my 3k mile 021 rear dead while driving down a busy artery the runs by the shipyards in National City. The hole left was so massive that plugging was not even an option.

This crap is getting old fast.

That is all. End of rant...

It isn't San Diego....though complaining about your mishaps may be perceived as ludicrous by those who are currently "iced" or snowed into their homes and can't ride. <_<

It could be the carelessness and ignorance of those who share the public thouroughfare but take no responsibility for dropping debris on the roadway. Its all part of the "riding experience".

Your service as a "cleaner/sweeper" is appreciated by the rest of the motorcycling community! :clapping:

There's one in every crowd...

And actually, those who live down here know what I'm talking about. There are zones/areas of town that have very very poor roadway maintenance. National City, also known as the Guadalajara of San Diego, is one of the worst.

Thanks for your thoughts, though.

We have the same thing in Sacramento. Every city has them...and there's nothing we can do about it.

Wellllll, spit into the wind? Bark at the moon? Stomp our feet and slam the door?

It doesn't seem fair when all you want to do is commute and it costs you a tire that isn't half worn out. I'd be PO'd, too.

I think it is a result of all the construction. Those GC's drop crap everywhere. I saw a pile of sheetrock in the 405 yesterday. Was wondering if he dropped the screws too.
