Hey, I've got time. These snaps are from another quickie a couple of weeks ago.
Nothing profound here, but this Ride Reports section of the forum hasn't been getting
a lot of action lately. I've been going out every weekend all summer and taking photos,
so what the hell. Here's another.
This one was again out 16 to 49 to Angel's Camp and then up 4 over Ebbett's Pass, to 89,
through good old Markleeville (needs a gas station), then back west on 88, over Carson Pass,
to the Emigrant Trail (can't get enough of it), to 50, down the mountain and home.
Check the notes at the end too. After all the photos.
Sloughouse on 16. Who from around here hasn't bought sweet white corn from this place?
It's like candy. Great place to take the kids in the fall too.
But that takes the fun out of it...
This stuff is good for you ----if eaten with beer.

Murieta Equine Center. Women love horses. This looks like a Mercedes commercial.
Such an endearing name for a town...
I understand this thing has that telelever suspension...
Bear Valley
See!
Lake Alpine
Stopped here to....uh, ....check my tire pressures.
Mosquito Lake
Encountered this fellow near the summit. He's riding one of the "old" FJR's. Before they
were refined, as I understand it.
Ebbett's Pass
Down the east side of the mountain. Blind corners and no centerline. This area makes me so
nervous, I just close my eyes and coast.
And then toward home again on the Emigrant Trail. Love "the Trail."
Sly Park, just before getting back on 50.
Post Script? - A few minutes after that last photo, I'm rolling down 50, minding my own business, staying just ahead
of a minivan, and as I come around a corner just up the hill from Placerville, I get the blue lights. 80 in a 65! - CHP.
"Mike, you weren't riding like some of these kids on sportbikes that come through here, but we're not cutting
any slack for motorcyles lately. We've had a number of fatalities near here these last few days. I just got another
bike doing 100. ................Have a nice day."
$172.
Plus whatever they charge for traffic school I guess.
Dammit!
