Heinen's in Osseo, MN on fire
I WAS going to pick up a new 08 FJR1300 this Saturday, but I guess the dealership was burned to the ground earlier today.

Needless to say I'm a little bummed :( Thanks goodness I hadn't put any money down on it yet.

Tom
That sucks. Hopefully no one had their FJR (or any other rider's bike) in there for maint :(

Did you sign anything?

After looking at those pictures and thinking about the bikes that might be inside, I really think that most of that damage will buff right out.

Swingman Sends

wow - big fire on that one and bummer about not getting the bike.

Would suck if a person had their bike in for service and that happened.

Say, I wonder if it was a BMW rear gear assembly the employee was working on?

They do have a tendency to self-detonate.

Fire was in their storage lot. Heinen's is still there. The home improvement businesses isn't. Burning bike was rolled out of the shop apparently and started part of the storage lot on fire. This appears to be a quick way to move non-current inventory. Had two friends at work just by new non-currents from Heinen's at huge discounts...-25% from list. Hope they stay in business.

Thatt's the place I bought my bike from last year, via eBay. I wonder if the extra trunk lock they never sent me survived the blaze?

I tried calling just now and the phone rings/no answer. I've got a friend that lives a few miles from there and I'll see if they can go check it out today.

There was a dealer (Yamaha) a few years back just outside of Philly in Darby PA that went out of business with out warning and skipped town with all bikes both non sold models and customers bikes. I got screwed on parts that I had ordered and like a dummy I paid for them in full when I ordered them. I drove up to the place and it was like a ghost town, the store was completely empty. I walked up and down the street just to make sure I was not at the wrong place.

Hope that's not the case :)

I got in touch with one of the guys there about an hour ago. He said the big-dollar machines are all in a warehouse across the street, and that mostly dirt bikes and quads were involved in the fire.

He's checking on the machine they had earmarked for me, but he was pretty sure it will still be OK. He wasn't sure, however, how soon I could take delivery since all the shop guys were involved in the cleanup efforts.

Wonder if I can cut a deal with them if I take it home on the crate... ;)

I would think you could, kind of a "Fire Sale", or "These Deals Are Smokin'", or "Hot, Hot Prices!"....

Thanks for coming, drive safe, and be sure to tip the waitstaff! B)

After waiting on a bike for three weeks to be shipped to me from these people.

Along with so many other problems I won't go into.

I can't say anything good about them.

Get ahold of Monte Steinke, if he's still there. He was dramatically better than Paul, in my experience. Paul got into an argument with a bank official I was working with, as the credit form he sent had to be notarized, but there was no space for the stamp. After I overheard his tone of voice to her, I took the phone away from her, and told him he could talk to me if he wanted to be abusive, but she didn't need the flak.

A brand new '07, over a year ago, for $11,800 made it worth dealing with them, but get Monte on the phone.

Keyser soze got screwed on a deal? I highly doubt that. And, if true.....I guarrantee he got even.

Thanks for the heads up, jmdaniel - I think Paul said he wasn't working on Sat, but Monte was.

I spoke with Jim earlier this morning about the status of the bike. He called me back around lunch and said he physically looked at it and it was still brand new -> setup and waiting to be picked up.

I might get lucky, after all...
