Many of you know about the "Saturation Enforcement" going on at Deal's Gap aka Tail of the Dragon right now.

The owners of the Deal's Gap Motorcycle Resort at the crossroads of US 129 and Hwy 28 are collecting information to present to the Tennessee governor about how the excess law enforcement is hurting tourism in the area.

They are seeking people who regularly visit the Gap to sign a Guestbook.

Many of you traveled through Tennessee to get to the GAP, so you probably stopped for food, gas, etc., and you may have even stayed in Tennessee. One way to show the governor he is hurting his state is to pledge not to spend your money there as long as this harassment continues.

Thanks to anyone who decides to participate.

Sounds noble.

I wonder though, how many people get hurt on that 11 miles wilst horsin round? how much does that cost the state? Is the tourism making up for the costs?

-just a thought

Done, Thanks for posting the request.

I really feel that this was coming. Something's got to get that particular area under control. There are people who enjoy themselves & at a minimum, somewhat obey the law but there are way too many hot dogs riding that road. I doubt the enforcement will last longer than this season, anyway. I haven't read the petition nor do I agree with people getting BS tickets but I don't blame the troopers for trying to get the place under control... because for sure, it's out of control.

I've rode that particular piece of 129 a few times & really don't care if I ever go to that spot again because of the hooliganism.

FUZZY BALLS!!!!!

After listening to the group from work brag about being total ******** an idiots while playing Joe Racer last time down, and commenting how thats the norm, I think it's time to get it back under control. :glare:

Ya wanna act the dumb ***? Pay the price, wallet or hide. Either way Its gonna cost ya ;)

All hail the ****!!!

:jester:

I ride the Gap a lot. I never go on weekends. The serious riders seem to go during the week because the clown population is much smaller. The troopers are there on the weekends. What's that tell you? I'm not talking about the troopers either! :glare:

I agree about all hooliganism going on and all, but who here can say they never broke the law speeding, or going through a curve faster than the speed limit? To target only motorcycles (All) and harass and threaten with being taken to jail and/or ticket, because you crossed the centerline because a car's not quite all the way off the side of the road, or having to prove your glasses are shatter proof, or 32 in a 30, or any number of BS tickets and harassment they can think up is a lot over the line in my book! I hope this does something! Hit them in the wallet is the only thing they'll listen to! Just like what they're doing to us!

Actually It appears as though the dumb *** drunk holigans that I referred to in an earlier post are the target victims. Too bad law enforcement has to save 'em from themselves.

******* shouldn't ride!

Long live the ****!!!!!

I'm for the authorities doing whatever they have to do to rein in the idiots and asshats that plague the Dragon. The situation there has been out of control for some time now and drastic action is called for if it is ever to return to the fun it used to be. It's too bad that the average good Joe has to suffer along with the pricks that caused this piss-poor development in the state of things. Those that have consistently abused common sense, put their own selfish ways ahead of others, and show a total lack of responsibility are the ones to blame.....not the State of Tennessee. I'm going to send e-mails to to the TN governor praising him for his long overdue action.

What really pisses me off is that these same ******* bikers ( and ***** cagers ) who ruin a good thing will make their way over to the " Snake " and eventually ruin it as well. I own property in Mountain City, TN and I'm up there riding Hwy. 421 and the other great roads a lot. Already, on the weekends, the Snake is becoming a zoo....saddens me to see it happening.

well, i got hurt at the gap, but not while horsing around...

other than a trooper, no cost to the state, and i paid a fine, so they broke even if you count the troopers time as a charge...

so i guess the towing co made money...

and the storage yard made money...

and the bike salvage co made money...

and a fjr forum brother in knoxville got great prices on my '05 bits since i got an '06 replacement...

i think it was win win all around...
