Negotiating a price for the '05 during PDP timeframe:

Me: "Here's what I'll pay, OTD"

Dealer: "Oh, we can't do that. Besides, this is a hot selling bike".

I say the Yamaha FJR1300 is by definition a cold selling bike, in that Yamaha doesn't want to risk overbuilding them and then end up losing money while the bikes rot in warehouses, and thus the build to order only basis that the PDP establishes.

Just say...."oh well, I guess I will go buy a harley and spend about the same on farkles and what not....". Besides.....if you wanted the bike....you would have bought it by now.

Rather than beating on a particular dealer's price, just shop elsewhere. Very simple, really. There's plenty of slightly used FJR's at decent prices, and new machines pop up from time to time as well if ya keeps yer peepers open. I ya don't wanna be a waiter, or don't want to pay what one particular dealer charges, then don't do it. Do something else.

Agreed that your dealer's line about a "hot selling bike" is just that, a line. That's the mark of a ****** salesman, when they make glib and ignorant remarks and then expect you to believe they are factual. When I encounter that ****, I just move on.

It really should be simple. Especially if you're PDPing, the dealer has zero risk, doesn't pay a salesman to show it to ya, etc. The dealer merely receives it, assembles it, and lets you have it. Shouldn't be much mark-up.

That's why he sells motorcycles and not something that requires brains. I've run into sales people like that and just do an about face ASAP. I can't a sales person who (1) doesn't know his product line and (2) is smug.

Jesus, poop! At least get an orignal avatar, wouldja? :p

And, wada you doing here? Ain't no 'basement' for you to play in... :D :****:
