Got your PM about this Saturday. When you say "early in 29 Palms", what time are you looking at. I have some things to do in the afternoon (must be home NLT 2:30pm) but could join for a little ride in the AM.

So you wanna ride the desert, huh? Have you seen ZZkenoman's ride report from last weekend?

For me, not really. I live right in the middle of this desert and have to cross it to get anywhere. You're in Kingman, right? Hmmm. Your only hope is to go East, but even then I'm not sure what your chances of cool weather are.

Don't get me wrong, I'm up for a ride...just wanted you to be aware.

As of right now, I am not sure i am going to be home:(

But i will get some riding done this weekend sometime... HEAT OR NO HEAT!

Consider this WFO training! :haha:

-OR-

Go out in the 4x4 and tear up some trails!

I was just out in Twenty Nine Palms two-weeks ago on my trusty steed...it was pretty miserable, but it still beat sitting on the couch.

I REALLY love to ride, but 107 on the temp gauge took a bit of the fun factor out of things.. It was the same feeling as being on a boat going across Havasu when its a buck ten out...that blast furnace in the face feeling...except you couldn't stop and jump in the water.

I would hook up with you on Saturday if I could, but I'm going out to Fontana Speedway to drive the Neckcars at the Petty Driving Experience.

Maybe some other time? I'm always up for putting miles on the bike.

This MAY or MAY NOT have an impact on your ride. There are currently two fires buning in remote areas of the Joshua Tree National Park. Both are towards the south-west corner of the park and currently have no impact on any roads. There is, however, a haze of smoke filling the entire Morongo Basin (which includes the following cities/ towns: 29 Palms, Joshua Tree, Yucca Valley, Morongo Valley) as well as in Desert Hot Springs.

Just letting you know so you didn't have a hot AND smokey day tomorrow.

Sorry, going on this ride

Dan & I are leaving Laguna at 5am to be in ramona at 6:30am, and SoCalMike is interested in meeting us down there also. It will be nice to ride in the cool weather in the morning. Can someone say Micro mist? lol

Glad you guys are coming.

Should be a great ride!

See you in the morning :)

Going to bed soon but I will check for any messages or questions in the morning.

zzkenoman has my cell # (sent you another PM just in case)

Anybody up for a ride July 15th. I'm a NorCAL transplant, waiting for my Santa Rosa house to sell. I'm renting in Wildomar now.

Who wants to show me the local roads? I rode down hwy 79 to Pine Valley and couple weeks ago. Does it get much better?

I ended up riding around Lake Havasu instead of making the big trip out there... I will have to plan better next time...
