Thanks for the advanced notice you no working jackass!!
Dios Mio 'Zilla RadioHowie is so damn right on about you, you're just a big Girlie Man! You don't see Wheatie or El Toro Jose complaining do you? Old Michael is bringing the Bailey's and Jameson Irish Whiskey, to keep us warm while riding at 40F degrees! jes' sayin' and nuff said, Brrr!

This is outrageous. Beemerdon's organizing a ride to the to a frigid and frosty Hannagan Meadows. Any self respecting northerner would be high tailing it to warmer climes but this southern living soul his heading to the cold. This is proof we are never happy with what we got.

If Don is in need of cold weather I suggest Yellowknife or even a bit of recon along the Dalton Hwy in preparation for the Alaska adventure in 2015 where it is sub zero. There is a Ural store in Seattle and it would be the perfect mount for this adventure.

I know you Specific Northwet Mooks don't know we get snow here in Arizona, but over half of The Grand Canyon State is over 5K feet in elevation! JSNS, Brrr!

It has been raining all day in Alpine, and late this afternoon, it turned to snow. It is now 22° and snowing in Alpine (according to the weather webcam) at 10:42 p.m. I watched the snow start around 5 p.m.

You know there's going to be even more snow and ice between Blue Point Vista and Alpine. Please be careful, and dress nice and warm! Turn up that Gerbings to "broil." ;)

Many Thanks to you azgsgirl, I will move this post over to the FJR Forum ASAP!

If that's the case' date=' probably won't get that far north. Everyone still in?[/quote']

atc250r and C 4, Papa Chuy Viejo is in but I am going to head South in Globe on Highway 77 to Mammoth for Mexican food. Then through Oracle and back up the Pinal Parkway Arizona Route 79 to Florence and Highway 87, then to home.

Guys, it is only going to be a high of 29F in Alpine today! Which means at Blue Point Vista which is 1,500 feet higher, it is going to be only 22F! No way, Jose!

That sounds like a plan Don. Too many twists and turns on ice and snow on the Devil. What's your time frame for that route?

Tim let's stay with a 0800 departure from Goldfield Chevron in Apache Junction.

Should get me back to la Casa de Stanley en Chandler del Barrio at 1400, ese!

Hwy 191, I believe. If so, that is is a mighty nice ride, which I savored in late October.
I was there in April. Early in the morning there was frost on the road in some corners. I never slipped, but this old Arkansas boy isn't used to that. ;)

I love that road and will do it again.

A rider on a BMW a few minutes ahead of me went down after hitting sand on the fog line while setting up for a left hander. On the right was a 500' drop. He was lucky that he did not high side or slide to the right or he would have had many, many scrapes and bruises instead of a scraped arm and banged up body. I helped him up and stayed with him until we got to Clifton. His bike was rideable and he had shaken off his spook by then.

Even that did not lessen my enjoyment of the ride.

It's a terrific road. I was headed out to visit a friend in Apache Junction and took 191 from I-40 and spent the night in Springerville. I left there early the next morning, thus the frost on the road. Hwy 191 has everything. Some of the sections had tight turns that were really hard to find a line through. I'd think I found the apex, and it'd move on me ;) OK, I know that makes no sense, but I'd find myself having to adjust mid-corner -- something I try not to do. Then other sections would be extremely nicely laid out turns when I could just press into it, hit the apex, and ease back out. It can be very challenging. Since I was all by my lonesome and only saw a couple of other vehicles in 70+ miles, I took it easy -- not a place to crash by yourself. The BMW rider was also lucky you even found him.
