Warchild
Benevolent Dictator
In case some of you were wondering, dickb04 has PM'd me - more than once today - to formally request his account be removed and his thread deleted.
I tried to talk him out of it, but apparently, he is convinced this place just isn't for him.... guess he didn't care for the massive dog-pile he received from his one and only post to the forum. I pointed out that he really should adopt a slightly thicker skin and hang around, because he'd be missing out on the best FJR forum on the planet if he left.
But he was adamant about departing, so.... he did.
Now, all that having been said.... I and the other Admins are going to take a greater emphasis to ensure you seasoned veterans don't dog-pile newbs unnecessarily (unless they truly, *actually* need dog-piling). So, okay, this guy's initial post to the forum looked suspiciously troll-like, okay, I get that, but.... forum members didn't really need to hammer his **** into the dirt to the degree it was.
The Admins must shoulder some of the blame here as well, because we did not put a stop to it early on, and we should have. As I said, we'll be keeping a closer eye on this issue in the future.
I'll pin this topic for a few days so eveyone can see it, but closing the thread because there is no need for big dramatic, angst-filled posts on this issue. Just be polite to newcomers and try to exercise some patience with them. You were a newb here once. Every forum member was a newb here once. Food for thought....
