Oooooh, 6! If anybody in the world knows how to build a straight 6, it's them Bavarian dudes.

As long as the final drive is up to it . . .

Didn't Kawasaki have one in the old KZ and Voyager 1300 series' back in the early 1980's?

I have never drank the Kool Aid from the BMW chalice. I get that a lot of people are sold on them, but I can't get past some of their quirky styling or engineering design choices. And while some BMW devotees like to brag about their engineering prowess and reliability, to them I have two words - final drive.

Seriously, I think every motorcycle and manufacturer has their benefits and drawbacks. You ride what you like because YOU like it. Period.

Just be prepared to take crap for it from others who are not like minded. :pooh_go:

You know - when you think about it, that's not a bad life strategy. Just make you own damn choices and don't have a nutty when others don't agree with you. :yahoo:

If you're interested in the BMW 6 cylinder, here is a web site that is supposed to be official.

I've got to admit, I will be looking at these in year 2. That sucker's got almost as much torque as my Rocket III Touring in a lighter package.

I'm really incredibly happy with my current stable though. Its the first time since in many years that I've got some motorcycles that are genuinely comfortable with stock seats.

Kwak had the KZ1300, Honda had the CBX, both air-cooled, though, not modern water-cooled ultra-high HP tuning.
Went and looked it up after you posted - the kawa 1300 was water cooled and the later models (84+ from what I gather) were fuel injected, did 130 HP and ~100 lb-ft of torque - those numbers seem pretty reasonable for launching a machine of that displacement in that era.

You're right. I remembered that sometime after I posted, having actualy looked at one of those Voyagers back in the day.
