Difference between trunk attachments GenI vs. GenII/III

Hi all,
Does anyone know if the trunk attachment points are the same between generations?
In other words, can I transfer a trunk kit from Gen II to Gen I? Gen II to Gen III works fine.
The part numbers are different at Yamaha, but are they really different or just maybe beefed up a bit?

I'm pretty sure the bolt pattern is different.

If nobody posts a more definite answer I could compare them when I get home.

Gen 1 to 2 are completely different.

Gen 2 to 3 are the same. (Gen 3 is really Gen 2.1)
