I was wondering if anyone has tried the gomusic.ru or soundike.com web sites for music purchases. At anywhere from 9 cents to 15 cents per song and albums from 1 to 3 dollars, it sounds almost too good to be true. Any experiences?

Not such good news for soundike read this. Same for gomusic see this. These pages are from a competitor so take it for it's worth. I see that these are Russian companies and do not pay royalties to artists so there my be some legal problems downloading music from them.

Not a place to go without a stout and robust suite of virus and malware protection. Once the KGB figures out that they can leverage a percentage to shield you from INTERPOL who would be hot on your tail for copy right infringement your bank account would be gone. :) have a nice day!

If you are going to download pirate music, you might as well use limewire and get it for free. At least that way there is not a crime ring profiting from you.

The Russian sites have been tested in Russian courts and found to be legal. The question is it legal to buy it if you like outside Russia? It depends on who you talk to, about it. The RIAA has never gone after them because of this I suspect " This is because of the Berne convention as administered by the WIPO, and WTO requirements.

I quote “…any country that is a signatory of the convention is awarded the same rights in all other countries that are signatories to the Convention as they allow their own nationals, as well as any rights granted by the Convention” . The fairest seems to be emusic.com they appear to pay the artists , it is higher quality and much less. I would not mind paying more for music but 128k and poor quality at $1.06 USD a track is a lot.
