Speaking of that windscreen disabling thing (we was, wasn't we?), it was easy and a good solution to the pointless (IMO) auto-retract feature. I pulled the harness within reach and held it there with a long pair of needle nose pliers, and opened the little plastic tabs with another one, btw.
