Found this on the floor after I took the tail section tupperware off. It may not have anything to do with the tail section, don't know how long it was laying there. I don't think it's the rubber thing from the side panel as it has indentations and the one from the side panel is flat.

Any suggestions?

Looks like one of the bushings for the headlight mount posts in the front sub-frame. There should be 4. Don't know why those would be in the tail, though.

There are two of those on the GenII bikes - they are for the bottom of the side panels under the seat. Those sit on a small post, and the plastic fork on the inside of the side panel slips onto the rubber bushing.

That is a damper, Yamaha p/n 4XV-83513-00-00. It fits on a downward pointing pin cast into the lower outer corners of the tail light housing. The tail piece side panel clips into the slot on its perimeter. They drop off easily when you are trying to align things in reassembly.

Go HERE to see the Yamaha parts diagram. Pull up your bike and look at the "Tail light" section.

Hope this helps.
