I'm thinking of ordering a Russell on my next bike though I'm only 5'6. I was wondering if anyone anywhere in SoCal had a Russell (ideally not a very high one) that they wouldn't mind me sitting on.

We're not exactly SoCal - more CenCal - but the hubby and I both have Russells. If you want to ride up to Kernville, you can see how different the two seats are side-by-side. We're both 6', but the hubby has a much shorter inseam so his seat is noticeably shorter than mine.

I may take you up on that offer in a month or so when I have more time. Can you take a photo of the shorter seat, especially a side-view shot?

I have a Day Long but I'm 6' and am a big boy, so mine has the "Wings". Probably not what you are looking for but you are welcome to sit on it.

However if you do want have a sit i'm out of town for the next week so it would have to be after then.

It probably won't help me much but I might as well take a look, even if it proves too tall to even sit on, since you're very close.

Alright, here are a few different views of the shorter seat:

This one is much shallower than mine (not as much stuffin') so he doesn't have nearly as long of a reach as I do.

Thanks for the pictures. It looks like it should be low enough that I can at least swing a leg over. This will be for a new bike (a K1600GT) and I'll wait for it to arrive (July or earlier) since it would make the long highway commute easy. (I currently ride an FZ1 that I had replaced my FJR with.)

I'll message you in a month or two.

God willing, both bikes should be in Ontario at the IBR finish on July 1-2. Then you only have to ride half as far for 10 times the excitement
