I put a Yamaha touring screen on yesterday, and while installing it, I notice that my bracketry has some play in it. It's the black arms that raise and lower the screen. If I grab the screen at the top, and pull forward and backward, there is about 1/8" to 1/4" play in the arms. Is this normal, or is something loose down in there. The screen seems to operate normally other than that.

If I get a lot a wobble from buffeting I know I am too close to the car in front of me. When there is no one in front of me it is rock solid. At 130 mph there is no wobble at all. :)

To be safe, check the bolts that hold the windshield bracket onto the lower arm. I have the rifle mod to lean the screen back more than normal and noticed some vibes and more than expected screen wobble at 130 clicks. Found one of the bolts had broken. Could have been messy. But just because it happened to me, it's worth checking. But some play is expected.

Mine wobbles on the way down in retract. Not on the way up. What is the recommended "lubricant"? Solid at highway speeds though.

Mine has enough play that it rattles at low speeds over bumps.

Not an issue once there's enough of a breeze on it.

Not any different from when it was new.
