Doesn't anyone ever proof read anything anymore?

I noticed Yamaha updated their site today. It looks to be mainly cosmetic although there are some new features as well. I checked out the new model overview page. Check out the new FJR1300E :p

You'd think they would hire programmers that new something about motorcycles. Then again, they could always check their work before posting :)

Be careful about throwing stones when you live in a glass house. In your posting, "new" should have been "knew". A little pre-posting scrutiny would have helped.

Typo's happen to the beast of us.

And it is actually an image so blame the graphics designer not the programmer!

I'm guilty and lazy to proof read, but if I'm on the road, all I have is my samsung i730 to type text on its little keyboard, but I think its the contribution that really counts.

Most likely not a programming error but a CONTENT error! You are forgiven for insulting the greatest / noblest profession on earth :bleh: !

Best Regards,

Shane

Looks to me like the guiy who created the image simply didn't know what the name of the bike actually is. I make typo's all the time and frequently have to go back and edit my posts to fix things I missed the first time I reviewed them. This doesn't look like a typo. Anything that goes out on the web for commercial purposes should be reviewed by technically knowledgeable people. After all, they are trying to gain our confidence in their work so we will give them our money.

I have proof-read your comment and the word "new" should be "knew" in this line --->

"You'd think they would hire programmers that new something".

So, check your work before posting. :D

And I have proofread your subject and find that "proofread" is a compound word according to Meriam-Webster and not two separate words, "proof read", as you have.

(added)Long live the edit button!

You can thank the miraculous thing called "evolution" for the wonder of the human body and it's many abilities. :eek:k:  ;)

On a serious note.

Historically spelling was never important.

At the invention of printing printers liked to Right Justify. The way they did it was to add or subtract letters from words until the line was the right length.

As always blame the Victorians for their passion for education. We have all been brainwashed. Give the guy a break!

Is "FJRFORUM" a word or mispelled title? lol oops, lol is not a word either, I forgot to spell it out correctly, laughing out loud. Lighten up everyone, have a merry christmas, get back to work, think about all the stuff you have to buy your kids or spouse. I have to think about riding to the long beach bike show or not in this weather. We just have too much important things to think or discuss than this thread. Oh by the way, would anyone be interested in putting together a ride in southern california and wear santa suits?
