I am currently taste testing a Molson Export Ale and It is pretty damb good.

Now how do I get some of those brownies?

Dave
Up here in the Great White North, Molson Export Ale is properly referred to as "Vitamin X" at the In & Out Store.

Remember, "Beer, it's not just for breakfast anymore".

Actually, rather than a beer that is a-like the brownie in flavor, I'd aim for something with a bit more "contrast" like maybe a big Espresso Stout.

There are many of them, with Great Divide's "Espresso Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout" (yeah, it's a mouthful in more than one way) being a particularly noteworthy choice.

Well you guys beat me to it. Any good beer lover knows a good porter or Stout is great with brownies. Fred, I'm right there with you on the Yeti. Dat be some good stuff. :yahoo:

OK so who is cooking up a batch for us to sample??

Trust me -- You don't want to sample my baking. :sicksmiley02: . I do have a nice porter to wash it down with though.

I had a friend that used to put so much hash in the brownies they came out green in colour. Magic Brownies :hyper:

Got the makings and am going to make a batch tonite. I wonder what Alice B brownies with bacon would be like. You could get stoned and deal with the screaming munchies at the same time. :D

I gotta make the effort to visit you more often. Brownies, beer, goats and shop talk. Doesn't get much better.

Cool beer ideas, but may I suggest a contrasting, complementary flavor of beverage, instead of trying to match the chocolate and brownie mixture. Maybe...

1) Grain Belt Nordeast

2) New Glarus Spotted Cow

3) Kokanee

4) Leinenkugel's Honey Weiss

All north central US beers, with the exception of the Kokanee (BC glacier water......mmmmmmmm)

you're easy. :p

Anyone know a good beer to go with Bacon Brownies?
Smoked Porter. Alaskan or Stone or Mantorville Stagecoach (if you can find it).

And honestly, is there REALLY any BAD beer?
Yes there is ... Cave Chili Beer is the worst I've had. Red Dog ranks up there with the BMC's, and the rest, which is like making love in a canoe.

Beer and chocolate...classic!

Lagavulin or Ardbeg or Laphroig and chocolate...ambrosia...especially with a side of extra crispy bacon!!!
