Dolomite Passes

While most riders in Northern Italy head for the Mediterranean coast on a sunny weekend, a few will ride North to enjoy the Alpine roads almost undisturbed.

With most ski-areas closed down after the winter season, mountain roads are now almost deserted.

One of my Italian buddies who lives in Venice ("Area62" is his Forum handle) has shot these scenic photos on the Dolomites at Giau Pass (elevation 6,700) a couple of days ago. The rock formation in the second picture is known as Mount Nuvolao.

Cool pic's Stef--literally!!!!!!!!!! Gives me the chills just looking at them. Suppose to be in upper 80's here in south MS today. Your home makes for interesting travel. Hmmmm, should I ride to the beach today and ck out the topless babe's or take to the mountains and play in the snow. Personally I know which I would pick! so long as the wife wasn't going :yahoo:
