But I did not pre-order my bike but found it on the showroom floor. He had both the A & AE sitting there last week, and I put a deposit on the AE and picked it up yesterday (Thursday). Man this bike is NICE!! I have read all the posts about people hitting the horn button when shifting so I was trying very hard not too repeat that :biggrinsmiley:

I rode it about 100 miles after picking it up, and feel guilty already because some of you changed the oil after only 20 miles after breaking her in..... :eek:mg2:

I did introduce myself in the FNG section, so I won't repeat that here. Just wanna say that I have already learned a lot in the past few weeks lurking around and I'm very glad to have joined the FJR1300 community.

I found mine on the showroom floor too. A lot of people will, the dealerships tend to order more than they get waiters for...and sell them all to people like you and me. My wife bought mine for me though...July 5th, '05

I'm very glad that you are very glad, and very glad you'll be in a year like me!

Welcome to the board and congrats on the new AE. I had to wait 6 months for the "A" but the suspense was great which made the arrival day real special. I got some really good info in that span of time and met some good folks here in the process. Hope you will give us a report soon on how the smart shift bike works . PM. <>< :D

Oh, by the way....this web site is for gay fjr riders only. You know...the ones with the reallly relaly realleay clean scoots? I'm only allowed in here because I wear leather pants. Got through on fine print, so to speak.

Once again Odot beat me to the punch! Always checking out the new talent eh odot?

Welcome, but i have to say that your first few posts don't look very promising. Can you whine a little more? ;)

Be sure to check with Yamaha customer service to see when your warranty started. Dealers (IIRC) didn't have the option to order floor models. That means they bought them through the PdP with a ghost buyer's name. When received they had to report delivery to the buyer within 15 days. IOW - A floor bike is actually previously-owned in Yamaha's eyes and the clock is ticking on the warranty.

Unless your like me. Yama does not have my account in the computer yet. My third bike from Yamaha and on this one, they have not sent me a bill yet. I have had the bike since April 14th. I have talked with the Finance Guru and called the company. Still not showing up on the computer. That would mean my warrenty has not begun until I am in the computer. I keep making the payments to my account so when it does pick me up, I can send the money in.

This will be my last post to this area since I am not Gay!

Riding for free and in the wind. :yahoo:

This may not be entirely true. What I found out from Yamaha Customer Service is that dealers can report to Yamaha that the original purchaser backed out of the deal. The bike is then "registered" with Yamaha to the dealer. In this case, the warranty doesn't begin until the dealer reports to Yamaha that the bike was sold and delivered to a new customer. In any event, as long as you have the VIN # of the bike you want to buy, you can check with Yamaha to see whether this was in fact what happened and/or whether the warranty has started yet before you buy.

I bought Frank off the floor, and my warranty started from that point, by all I have seen, including the YES paperwork.
